Zesty Tuna-Pasta Salad

Cooked pasta is combined with wilted spinach, canned tuna, and a variety of veggies, tossed with a creamy Italian dressing with seasonings, and chilled.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta shells or rigatoni
  • 2 bags baby spinach
  • 4 small cans solid white albacore tuna, drained
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 of a red onion, chopped
  • 5 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 or 2 handfuls grape tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp capers, drained
  • Dressing:
  • 1 1/2 cups zesty Italian dressing
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp Montreal steak seasoning

Method

Cooked pasta as directed, rinse with cold water and drain well. While pasta is cooking, saute or steam spinach briefly, just until it has started to wilt. Pour cooked pasta into a very large bowl. Add remaining ingredients, except dressing, and stir gently. Pour dressing over salad, stir gently again, then cover and refrigerate least 4 hours. Stir again before serving. Dressing: Stir or whisk everything together until smooth.
