Prepare this fruit salad the night before you want to serve it so the marinade has time to soak into the fruits. You can change the ingredients to suit the season.

3 Large Apples
3 Large Navel Oranges
1 Small Pineapple
1 Small Cantaloupe
Spiced Marinade, see recipe below
1 pt box Strawberries,sliced
Mint Leaves
Spiced Marinade
½ cup Sugar
1 cup Water
½ tsp Lemon Juice
2 Cinnamon Sticks
½ tsp Whole Cloves
½ tsp Whole Allspice
½ cup Kirsch Liqueur


Peel apples and cut into 3/4 inch chunks. Peel oranges and separate or cut into sections. Cut pineapple into small wedges. Cut cantaloupe into wedges or balls. You should have about 2 cups of each fruit. Place fruit in a large bowl. Prepare Spiced Marinade and pour over fruit. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight till ready to use. Before serving, stir in strawberries and garnish with mint leaves.
