Great-Grandma's Three Bean Salad Renewed!

Three types of canned beans are combined with chick peas, onion & bell pepper, then chilled overnight in an oil-free mix of vinegar and sugar.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 can of green beans
  • 1 can of dark red kidney beans
  • 1 can of wax beans
  • 1 can of chick peas
  • 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
 
Method

Drain all beans and peas. Rinse them in a colander under cold water. In a large glass bowl, whisk together apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt and black pepper. Then toss in onion, green onion, beans and peas. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours, stirring once or twice.
