Fruit SaladsUPLOAD A RECIPE
Fruit salads are often associated with summer, but are easy to make all year round. The typical fruit salad starts with whatever fruit the cook likes; berries, watermelon, citrus, grapes, and melon are all popular options. Next comes the dressing, often a light, sweetened syrup, made of fruit juice and a thickener like honey or corn syrup. For festive tables, many cooks dress the salad with whipped cream and a helping of mini marshmallows. Another variation, the Waldorf Salad, combines fruit with a creamy dressing of mayonnaise, sour cream or sweetened plain yogurt.
