Creamy Dill Cucumber Salad

Thinly sliced cucumbers and red onion are tossed with a dressing of mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and dill weed.
Ingredients
- 4 medium cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 medium red onion, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 Tablespoon white sugar
- 1 Tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 1/4 teaspoon jarred garlic
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream

Method
Combine sliced cucumber and salt in a medium bowl; place in a colander with the bowl underneath and let drain for 30 minutes. Rinse well. In a serving bowl combined well-drained cucumber and remaining ingredients, tossing until well-combined. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes to overnight.
Notes: This salad has been served at family dinners ever since I was a little girl. We had our own garden and when the cucumbers went crazy we had this salad often. We brought huge bowls of it to many family get-togethers and bbqs. It was always one of the first salads to disappear!
