This fresh salad has a hint of Japanese inspiration from the cirtus dressing to the Japanese radish. The grilled grouper is seasoned perfectly and makes this a great dish for brunch.

Ingredients

  • For Salad:
  • 1-2 lbs grouper filets
  • 1 bag mixed baby salad greens
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 2 oranges, peeled and sectioned
  • 3 inch piece of daikon (Japanese radish), peeled and diced
  • For Citrus Q Sauce:
  • 1 cup grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 8-10 fresh basil leaves, julienned
  • 1-2 teaspoons cajun spice blend
  • Fresh-ground black pepper, to taste

Method

In a salad bowl, toss together salad ingredients (except for grouper), chill until ready to serve. Combine sauce ingredients in a pan and cook over low heat about 5 minutes, stirring just until it starts to boil. Divide sauce into two containers. Chill one container and keep other at room temperature. Grill grouper fillets over medium-low heat, brushing frequently with room temperature sauce, until fish is just flaky (5-8 minutes). Plate salads, drizzle with chilled sauce, and top with a filet of grouper.
