Fresh greens with cheese, nuts, and fruit. Basil infused olive oil is the secret ingredient for a perfectly flavored balsamic vinaigrette.
Dressing:
Pour olive oil into glass bottle or jar; add garlic and basil leaves. Marinate for 1 week. To make a dressing whisk together oil (with garlic and basil), balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper to taste. Dressing must be refrigerated.
Salad:
In small nonstick skillet, heat oil over moderate heat then add onion and saute until brown in color, stirring constantly.
Combine mixed greens, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and tangerine. Add 4 tablespoons dressing and toss. Divide into two salad bowls and sprinkle with caramelized onion, raisins, walnuts, goat cheese.
